GPA2019 Nottingham UK

The 27th Annual GP2A Medicinal Chemistry Conference is taking place from 21st-23rd August 2019 at the University of Nottingham (UK).

The GP2A, founded in 1992 as the Groupement des Pharmacochimistes de l’Arc Atlantique (GP2A) by medicinal chemists working within Schools of Pharmacy near the western coast of Europe (the “Atlantic Arc”), has rapidly expanded and currently includes academic members from France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and the United Kingdom.   is a member-led network of academic medicinal chemists working in universities and research institutes in Europe.

“Our definition of medicinal chemistry is broad and membership is open to those working in areas as diverse as physical and pharmaceutical chemistry and molecular pharmacology as well as the traditional areas of natural product chemistry, pharmacognosy and drug discovery.

Our primary aim is networking to enable exchange of ideas and experience. This is facilitated through two major activities: Our annual scientific conference and PhD student and post-doctoral research exchanges.

The network provides bursaries to facilitate exchange between members’ laboratories.”

With loads planned for this exciting event, you can find more information on the event page here: http://gp2a.org/index.php/category/gp2a2019/

Dr Kerry Elgie will be exhibiting here so you can take the opportunity to have a closer look at all the latest Asynt laboratory tools including the fReactor (flow chemistry made truly accessible!), the DrySyn Spiral Evaporator (evaporate up to 4 samples simultaneously with no bumping or contamination), the DrySyn OCTO (powerful magnetic stirring & heating in an inert atmosphere – with a tiny footprint!) and so much more!  If you’re around then please do come and find Kerry and say hi!
