Why BioAscent Choose Asynt
BioAscent, with over £3 million invested in R&D equipment between 2020 and 2022, demands systems that are robust, flexible, and forward-compatible. Asynt’s innovative lab equipment is designed to meet these requirements which aligns our product range with BioAscent’s long-term vision for innovation and sustainability.
From rapid synthetic development with FlowSyn flow chemistry apparatus to daily dependable heating and water-saving operations with DrySyn and CondenSyn, Asynt tools support BioAscent in delivering results without compromising on sustainability or quality.
Who are BioAscent?
BioAscent, founded in 2013, is a CRO (Contract Research Organisation) based in Scotland. The company provides a wide range of customers with integrated drug discovery and world-class compound management services. The highly experienced team (with an average of 15 years’ experience each) has knowledge spanning synthetic, medicinal, and computational chemistry, as well as biosciences and logistics.
In addition, the company also has an extensive, in-house compound diversity library and fragment library.
BioAscent has been using Asynt’s innovative and sustainable laboratory tools since 2018.
BioAscent using the FlowSyn in their lab
A substantial proportion of BioAscent’s customers are smaller companies who need expert support, especially for early-stage chemistry. They work with these companies throughout the drug discovery process and use methods such as flow chemistry, electrochemistry, photochemistry, parallel chemistry and more.

Asynt Equipment Used in BioAscent’s Lab
- FlowSyn: flow chemistry is increasingly central to modern synthesis, offering enhanced safety, scalability, and reproducibility. We have a wide range of flow chemistry tools available.
- DrySyn: these oil-free heating blocks enable safe, precise heating without any mess and with excellent reaction visibility. We have options for single and parallel reactions and a huge range of sizes to suit your preferred glassware.
- CondenSyn: our 100% water free condensers, all operate with the same efficiency as Liebig Condensers using the shape of the glassware to induce turbulent flow and thus condensation through increase contact between the vapour and the surface of the glass. CondenSyn comes in a range of sizes to suit your reaction scale and glass fittings.

Kirsten Deytrich:
“At BioAscent we are continuously looking for ways to improve our productivity and sustainability in the lab while maintaining the high standards and quality our customers have come to expect from us. Embracing new technologies, for example the Asynt Octo, allows us to efficiently carry out parallel chemistry, increasing the throughput of compounds synthesised by our chemists while saving both time and resources.”
A Shared Vision for a Smarter Scientific Future
At Asynt, we’re always excited to work with BioAscent, and many other leading organisations, pushing the frontiers of drug discovery. It is essential therefore that we design our lab tools to last, evolve with researchers, and to support a more sustainable future for science.
If you’re looking to equip your lab for success without sacrificing sustainability, let BioAscent’s example be your inspiration. With Asynt’s lab tools on your bench, anything is possible.
