The DrySyn MiniSpin was designed to allow for powerful overhead stirring of reaction vials. You can run up to three MiniSpins on a single hotplate, allowing for a total of twelve reactions in parallel.

Benefits of Overhead Stirring:
The first major benefit of overhead stirring is that it is more powerful than traditional magnetic stirring. This allows you to run reactions with more viscous liquids. We have tested the MiniSpin up to the 2000-4000 centipoise range. It could mix at ~500 RPM within this range.
The second key benefit is that the MiniSpin avoids the usual grinding effects of stirrer bars, making the better for working with solids in solution.
Why Vials?
Asynt already has overhead stirring solutions of round bottom flasks and jacketed reactor vessels (the DrySyn Vortex and our ReactoMate system respectively). By developing the MiniSpin system for reaction vials we provided the opportunity to scale up your overhead stirring from ~7 mL with our 2 dram vials up to 30+ L scale with the jacketed reactors and atom stand.
How it works:
The MiniSpin features a spinning magnet in a central drive that in turn spins the magnets attached to the stirrer shafts. The direction of spin can be switched from clockwise to anticlockwise as required and the overall RMP can be adjusted with the controller unit. The vials can simply be screwed in and out in order to set up your experiment and recontract it. Sampling can also be done via a side fitting through a septum. Heating can in turn be provided by a hotplate sitting underneath the MiniSpin system.
The MiniSpin can accommodate a range of fittings for sampling, additions, and waterless condensers
