It’s not all about us!

Although the Asynt team are all very much dedicated to our work, it’s not all about us!  We all get involved in a lot of other projects out in the real world.  We thought you might like to find out a little about some of these, in particular our recent and ongoing charity engagements!

Strawberry Tea

Cancer research fund raising Kerry teamed up with members of her family to throw a Strawberry Tea Party this summer in aid of Cancer Research UK.  With a wonderful array of baked goodies, and hand crafted creations sold for this charity that is so close to many of our hearts, Asynt was pleased to donate too.  Despite the weather not being great on the day the total raised at this event was over a thousand pounds!

The Distinguished Gentlemans ride London 2014Kirsty joined forces with her husband, Steve, to help raise funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer via an event called The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride personally raising around £600 including a contribution from Asynt. This is a motorcycling event which started in the US several years ago and is now worldwide.  One day a year distinguished gentlemen (and genteel lady folk) press their cravats, starch their tweed and head out on their classic motorbikes on a set course.  This year over 20,000 people took part, with approximately 700 at the London course Kirsty and Steve followed. You can imagine what a theatrical spectacle this was! There’s a good video of it HERE

Distinguished Gentlemans Ride 2014Charity Ball

SLMDA Autumn ballArran’s father, Allistair Solomonsz, is the current president of SLMDA (Sri Lankan Medical & Dental Association in the UK) – this non-political organisation has over 450 members dedicated to supporting and fostering undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental education in Sri Lanka.  Arran and his family get involved with all manner of projects with this organisation and Asynt was pleased to contribute to current fundraising via the Autum Ball event held recently! We like any excuse for a tux or a pretty dress!

This month long event that starts on 1st November with lots of clean-shaven gentlemen growing generally outlandish moustaches by the end of the month raises funds and awareness for mens health. We’ll share photos of our teams progress of course! This was how Martyn started off last year…!
